Helicopter to Hands Off...what is this all about?
This podcast will discuss the mini course "helicopter to hands-off", which opens Monday, the 27th of March. I talk about my background in parenting and education, having sent my children to a Steiner school and attended many parent courses. I emphasise allowing children to unfold and develop in their own time and space, protecting their senses and keeping childhood innocence intact. I am concerned about the current state of rushed and distracted parenting, which may negatively impact children's emotional, psychological, and spiritual development. I think educators feel overwhelmed and burnt out, leading to a high turnover rate. This leaves children to bear the brunt of a rushed and chaotic lifestyle. The "helicopter to hands-off" mini-course aims to teach educators how to step back and do less, empowering children to become critical thinkers and access their own ideas. I share the importance of nurturing children's critical thinking skills and allowing them to question themselves and their peers. By taking the "helicopter to hands-off" mini-course, educators can gain valuable insights into supporting children's development and achieving a healthier, more balanced approach to parenting and teaching.
